The Grossglockner
From historical begin of the Glockner road, in the middle of the town of Bruck, begins the discovery journey on the motorbike Eldorado Grossglockner Hochalpenstraße. The road runs from Bruck on winding bends through wonderful green scenery up to the Weile Embach chapel at 863 m above sea-level, where one passes through an avalanche barrier to where the jursistriction of the Grossglockner Hochalpenstraßen AG begins.
From the avalanche barrier onwards, the Grossglockner road climbs, to the toll building in Ferleiten (1.142m) which is reached after 4 km. There is here a special service for bikers: to the right of the toll gates at the “Bikers Info”, all information can be found of detailed motorbike tours and the appropriate tour tickets. Should there be a lot going on, then an extra desk is opened, where one can buy the chosen ticket.
